Suspending a Transaction

There are times when you might need to put a Shopping Cart on hold, while you start, and then process another transaction.  Such situations occur frequently at restaurants, and at call centers with mail and walk up sales.

As long as you have at least ONE item in your Shopping Cart, you can suspend it by clicking on the SUSPEND CART button in the POS CONTROLS panel:

You will get the following dialog with two options:

Suspend In House will just set aside the shopping cart for future action at this station.

Suspend for Web will turn the shopping cart into a suspended WEB cart, where the customer can then log in from home to complete the sale. That customer will be sent an E-Mail notification that they have a cart waiting for them at your ticketing portal.

A NEW (empty) Shopping Cart will be initialized for your next transaction.
